Why Do You Need a Garden Design?
A well-crafted design will offer the best and most elegant use of your space, having weighed up all the options.
It will select the most suitable materials, taking the house and your immediate surroundings into consideration.
A plan, drawn to scale, will show the correct relative size of the separate elements within a garden. In the process, it will highlight any difficulties that may occur during construction. And it will help you estimate the costs involved in a project.
Learn From a Professional
I trained as a garden designer in my early thirties, setting up Andrew Dumbleton Garden Design and Construction.
The early days were pretty nerve racking, but as my confidence grew I started to build larger and more complex projects. I found that I was most happy working on private residential gardens where space is of a premium. And where considered design is crucial.
My company now completes between six to eight gardens a year. Some are monumental in proportion and budget, but often the most satisfying projects are the small-scale gardens that will have a real impact on the client’s family life.
If you have an interest in designing your own garden, this course will help you make the best use of your available space, guiding you through to a successful design that is uniquely your own.
Client testimonial
After building a kitchen extension on the back of my house with large picture windows it soon became obvious that the garden would need some attention. With hardly any gardening experience this was a daunting task. The course was a perfect introduction to garden design, planting and construction. The modules were structured really well and took me through the process in a way that made perfect sense. Andrew created an informal and fun learning environment and I came away with a garden design that I was really happy with. I would highly recommend this course!
